About the Oregon Council for the Humanities

How to support OCH through a Gift

Supporting OCH through a charitable contribution is a significant investment in our programs and in your community. While we work to create new initiatives and expand our offerings, our funding from the NEH is not increasing significantly. On average, our NEH funding is only 15 cents per Oregonian. This is not enough for us to make our vision of public humanities programming for all a reality. Your help is needed and appreciated.

You can donate to OCH online through Network for Good by clicking the button below. This will take you to the Network for Good website where you can make a secure contribution using your credit card.

Your donation to OCH will support programs like the Oregon Chautauqua, Humanity in Perspective, Young Scholars Grants, and Oregon Humanities magazine. Please contact OCH Development Officer Darren Beatty at (503) 241-0543 or by e-mail if you would like information about supporting specific OCH programs, establishing a gift in perpetuity through an OCH endowment, making a gift of stock, or are thinking of remembering OCH in your estate planning.

And when you make a contribution to OCH be sure to match it with a gift to the Oregon Cultural Trust and receive a 100 percent Oregon tax credit for your gift to the Trust. The Trust is an innovative funding program supporting humanities, heritage, and arts statewide. As one of the Trust's five cultural partners, OCH receives a substantial grant from the Trust each year. To learn more or make a donatation, please visit the Trust's website or call (503) 986 0088.

Becoming an Advocate through Your Actions

You can also advocate for OCH by helping us bring our programs to your community. Encourage your local library, historical society, community center, and secondary school to contact OCH to receive information about our free programs. We look forward to meeting potential partners and forming relationships with other organizations throughout Oregon to bring our unique and thoughtful programs to new audiences.

You could also become an OCH Chautauqua presenter. If you are a scholar of the humanities with public presentation experience, contact our office by e-mail to receive more information about being a Chautauqua presenter.

Thank you for supporting lifelong learning in your community by advocating for the humanities.
